Now is the season for passion fruit and mushrooms. The sour passion fruit have a mucus-like interior and edible seeds that make for a fantastic fresh juice. The humongous, white fleshy mushrooms evoke images of Alice in Wonderland. We bought these beauties for $1 each from these two cute boys, stunned as they were by the white woman with the camera. Next up in the produce season is oranges. We miss the pineapple and await their sweet return. What I won’t miss is the chicken that has taken to laying eggs in my foyer and her noisy rooster husband who crows at all hours of the day and night.
